KI 3021 Moving data to Teams

The general rule for moving data to Teams is to only transfer content that is actively used or has been used recently. Old, outdated, and irrelevant files should not be carried over.

We observe that many shared areas contain data that may be considered sensitive and/or should have been deleted a long time ago. This may include information related to student admissions, hiring processes, payments, etc., from far back in time.

Please note that Teams/SharePoint is not suitable for all types of data. Typical examples include research data, raw data from simulations, videos, experiments, and large files. These types of data should not be stored in OneDrive or SharePoint, but rather in project areas or in Billy for long-term storage.

The IT division can assist with transferring larger volumes of data to avoid sync errors or missing logs—issues that often occur when the transfer is done from a regular client machine via the OneDrive client.
